The holiday season is a whirlwind of activities. Between shopping, cooking, and hosting, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But staying calm and centered during this busy time is possible. Over the years, I’ve developed a few relaxation hacks that help me recharge and navigate the chaos. Here are my go-to methods for finding peace when life gets hectic.

1. Create a Morning Ritual

Starting your day with calm can set the tone for everything else.

Every morning, I carve out 10-15 minutes for myself. Sometimes it’s sipping tea in silence; other times, it’s reading or stretching. The key is consistency. By giving myself this small window of peace, I feel more equipped to handle the demands of the day.

2. Take Mini Breaks

When things get busy, it’s tempting to power through without stopping. However, even five-minute breaks can make a difference.

During a busy day, I’ll step outside, breathe deeply, or even just listen to a favorite song. These small pauses help me reset and prevent burnout.

3. Delegate Tasks

This one took me a while to learn, but asking for help is a game-changer.

Whether it’s asking a family member to run errands or delegating cooking tasks, sharing responsibilities lightens the load. It’s amazing how much stress lifts when you’re not trying to do it all yourself.

4. Embrace the Power of Aromatherapy

Scents have a way of calming the mind and lifting the spirit.

When I need to relax, I light a candle or pop some wax melts in the warmer like lavender or eucalyptus. Remember, we have all your scent-related needs covered. See a complete list of our products here. Even a warm bath with a few drops of calming oil can make me feel like a new person.

5. Limit Your Screen Time

Endless scrolling or responding to messages can add to holiday stress.

I set boundaries with my phone, especially in the evenings. Instead of staring at a screen, I read a book, enjoy a craft, or simply relax without distractions.

6. Practice Gratitude

It’s easy to focus on everything that needs to get done, but reflecting on what’s going well is grounding.

Every night, I jot down three things I’m grateful for. This simple practice helps shift my perspective, reminding me of the joy that comes with the holiday season.

7. Move Your Body

Exercise doesn’t have to mean an intense workout—just moving can help relieve stress.

Sometimes it’s a walk around the block or a quick yoga session. Even dancing around the kitchen to my favorite playlist can lift my mood instantly.

Why Relaxation Matters During the Holidays

The holidays should be a time of joy, not stress. By incorporating these small but impactful relaxation hacks, I’ve found it’s easier to stay present and enjoy the moments that truly matter.
