Thanksgiving weekend was nothing short of amazing. The house was buzzing with life—grandkids running everywhere, laughter filling every room, and the irresistible smell of all the Thanksgiving classics. Everyone was here except two of my kids, but even with some family missing, the love in our home was strong, and it reminded me that my door is always open for them—a place where they can come and just be at peace.
Food, Family, and Football
Of course, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be complete without food…and a little football on the side! Between bites of turkey, dressing, and all the sides, we kept one eye on the game and the other on the chaos around the house. The kids were full of energy, the adults got in a little friendly debate over the plays, and the whole day just felt full of love and connection. These are the moments I cherish—the mix of tradition, family, and just the pure chaos that makes holidays memorable.
Slowing Down (Thanks to a Cold)
Normally, I jump straight into Christmas decorating on Thanksgiving night. This year, though, I was knocked out by some nasty respiratory bug and completely lost my voice. So instead of stressing about decorations, we just went to bed early and chilled. Honestly? It was kind of perfect. Sometimes, the universe forces you to slow down, and this was one of those times.
By Saturday, I made it to get the live Christmas tree and started clearing out Thanksgiving decor. Today, I dove in headfirst, pulling out ornaments, lights, and all the cozy holiday touches. I’m still feeling a little under the weather and my voice isn’t back yet, but slowly, I’m getting into the Christmas spirit.
Cozy Nights and Christmas Vibes
There’s something magical about Christmas lights—they instantly make a house feel warm and peaceful. Tonight, I’m snuggled in bed with a warm mug of horchata, the hubby softly snoring beside me, and Hallmark Christmas movies playing in the background. It’s these little moments—the quiet, the cozy, the lights, the smells—that make all the holiday chaos worth it.
Grateful, Happy, and Ready for the Holidays
This Thanksgiving reminded me how lucky I am. Family, food, football, memories, loyal customers, and a home full of love—what more could you ask for? Life may throw changes at us, kids may be off on different paths, and plans don’t always go perfectly, but home remains a place of warmth and peace.
Now, with Christmas slowly taking over, I’m ready to soak in all the joy the season brings—lights, laughter, quiet moments, and all the cozy little things that make this time of year so special.
